Helpful Questions and Tips on Niche Marketing

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

By Molly Gordon My clients and students are surprised and delighted to discover that a refined niche marketing strategy not only attracts significantly more business but also provides richer opportunities for self expression. To help you discern your own market niche, try using “where” and “who” questions like the following: “WHERE” QUESTIONS Where do you consistently find kindred spirits? Where are you most credible? Where is there the greatest need coupled with the greatest appreciation for your work? Where do the people who need your work most often have breakdowns that would cause them to hire you? “WHO” QUESTIONS Who is naturally drawn to you and to your work? To whom are the things that seem obvious to you a revelation? Who is traveling a path that you have successfully walked yourself? Whose language do you speak? Whose concerns can you reliably anticipate and address? Whom is it easy for you to serve? KNOWING AND WORKING FROM YOUR STRENGTHS ARE ESSENTIAL PARTS OF DEVELOPING YOUR NICHE MARKETING STRATEGY There are probably several ways in which your strengths can add value in the marketplace. Therefore, developing a niche is a process of exploring several possibilities and gradually refining them. You might think about developing a market niche as akin to planting a garden. You start by planting lots of seeds rather close together. As these germinate, you keep the strongest sprouts and remove the others. As your garden grows, you will continue to thin and prune until only the strongest and healthiest plants remain. Along the way you give away or compost the seedlings and trimmings; nothing is lost. As you refine your niche marketing strategy, you’ll grow in integrity and confidence. With time, you’ll know with certainty which customers are right for you, and you’ll attract more of them. ARE YOU AFRAID OF USING NICHE MARKETING BECAUSE IT MAY TURN AWAY BUSINESS? As you refine your market niche, you may experience some anxiety that focusing on your niche will deprive you of needed business. What do you do if someone outside of your niche wants to hire you? Talk to them. See how well you fit. There is nothing about a focused niche that says you cannot work with a variety of clients. The point of a niche is not to confine you, but to create the healthiest ecosystem for your business. Focusing your market niche is like focusing a great searchlight that can be seen for miles around. Your searchlight may attract people from beyond your niche precisely because you have defined that niche. While you always have the option of working with anyone who is attracted by your focused niche market, do beware of trying to be all things to all people. Not only are you likely to fail at this, but you run an increased risk of coming across as inauthentic and insincere. The cost of not applying a niche marketing strategy is not being recognized for the offer that you are and not having a fulcrum from which to leverage that offer for increased effectiveness, service, and prosperity. The longer you persist in marketing to everyone and anyone who could conceivably hire you, the more certain it is that you will burn out, leaving yourself and your clients or customers dissatisfied. In order to make a compelling declaration of what you are up to, you must be willing to say “no” to those clients, projects, and possibilities that are not well within the scope of your passion and your expertise. It is important to look to the market to see what your prospective customers and clients want. But look with a keen eye for how the needs and desires of the market match your strengths, talents, and passions. Say “no” to the opportunities that are a poor match, so that your vision and resources can be focused on the projects and relationships that are most likely to succeed. What Do You Do in the Dark?

Monday, August 27th, 2007

By Mike Ford In Ephesians 5:1, Paul urges us to imitate or follow God–not an easy thing to do. It takes many qualities, not the least of which is good character. The dictionary defines character as “the combination of qualities that distinguishes one person, group or thing from another.” It is moral or ethical strength, integrity, fortitude, excellence. It derives from a word meaning “a letter of the alphabet.” An English word not found in the Bible, character comes from a Greek word meaning “to engrave, mark or brand.” A brand designates ownership. If we have the character necessary to follow Christ, in effect, we wear His brand. The most unique definition that I have heard for character is “what you do in the dark.” Dark, as used here, is both literal and figurative. Darkness hides what we do. Most crimes are committed under cover of darkness, and probably more sins occur at night as well. That is its literal meaning. What about its figurative meaning? Satan is often associated with darkness, and conversely, God is linked with light (cf. Acts 26:18). Nothing is hidden from God. Everything we think, do and say should withstand the light of day. In other words, character is a way of life, not a show you put on for others, not a false front. Character is doing the right thing whether or not anyone is there to see it. The Example of Joseph Joseph is a good example of this kind of character. Sold by his brothers into slavery in Egypt, he becomes the property of Potiphar, a high-ranking government official. Despite what Joseph has been through, hated by his brothers, sold into slavery and separated from his father, he maintains his good character. Seeing this, God is with Joseph and allows him to prosper (Genesis 39:2). Instead of sending him to the fields where the labor was hard and the conditions bad, Potiphar assigns him to work in his house. His master notices that all Joseph does prospers, so he makes him his personal servant. Eventually, he puts Joseph in charge of all that he has (verses 3-5). Considering his slavery, Joseph’s life is good–then his character is tested. “Joseph was good-looking and handsome. By-and-by his master’s wife cast her eyes on him: ‘Lie with me,’ she said” (verse 6-7, Moffatt translation throughout). Now here was temptation! But he refused. He said to his master’s wife, “My master does not trouble himself about anything in the household, but has left everything in my hands, so that my authority is equal to his own; he has kept nothing from me except yourself, for you are his wife. How then can I commit this great crime, and sin against God?” (verses 7-9) Well-spoken words for a young man in his late teens or perhaps early twenties! Joseph had faced temptation and withstood it. But wait–”Day after day she spoke to Joseph . . .” (verse 10). The seduction of Joseph by this undoubtedly attractive and powerful woman continued. Joseph’s character was strong, though: “. . . but he would not listen to her appeal to lie with her or to be with her” (verse 10). Oh, this woman is clever! She pleaded with Joseph just to sit with her, but he knew what that would lead to! One day when the house was empty (according to first-century Jewish historian, Josephus, the Egyptians were celebrating a pagan festival, but Potiphar’s wife had pleaded sick), she escalated her assault on Joseph’s character. As he was working, “. . . she caught him by the robe, saying, ‘Lie with me.’ But he ran off, leaving the robe in her hands, and got away” (verses 11-12). How many men would be strong enough to withstand this kind of sustained attack on their character? Remember, none of Joseph’s family or friends were around. Who would know if he succumbed? Moral Character Josephus writes: For when his master’s wife was fallen in love with him, both on account of his beauty of body and his dexterous management of affairs; and supposed that if she should make it known to him, she could easily persuade him to come and lie with her, and that he would look upon it as a piece of happy fortune that his mistress should entreat him, as regarding that state of slavery he was in, and not his moral character, which continued after his condition was changed…(The Antiquities of the Jews, 2.4.2) Though a slave, his “moral character” remained intact. “How can I commit this great crime and sin against God?” he asked (verse 9). Who knows how long Potiphar’s wife kept this up? Weeks, perhaps months. Undoubtedly, Joseph prayed, meditated and fasted about this problem. He knew that to deny this woman was to face her wrath, yet he never wavered. As a result, Potiphar’s wife had him thrown in jail on false charges. By not giving in to sin, he found himself behind bars! Yet God continued to bless him even in prison, and he ultimately ruled Egypt. Joseph had made a courageous decision. But he had the character to do so because he had made right decisions in the past. Character does not just happen, but is built over time by making a series of courageous, right decisions. In his letter to Rome, Paul reminds us: It is far on in the night, the day is almost here; so let us drop the deeds of darkness and put on the armour of the light; let us live decorously as in the open light of day–no revelry, or bouts of drinking, no debauchery or sensuality, no quarreling or jealousy. No, put on the character of the Lord Jesus Christ, and never think how to gratify the cravings of the flesh. (Romans 13:12-14) Character is what you do in the dark! Best Diet Supplement And The Best Diet That Works

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

By Steve Gee The best diet supplements don’t work There are no diet supplements that are effective at reducing your weight and keeping it off for the long term. The best weight loss supplements might help you to make some quick weight loss but more often than not, your weight will quickly climb again once your diet is over. Save your money and invest some of your time into getting into shape using proper nutrition and exercise. You’ll be amazed at what you can achieve. The best diet that works The best diet that works requires a little commitment from you. You need the commitment because long-term weight loss and maintenance is for life and not just for special occasions so you need to be able to keep it up. The good news is that it isn’t as difficult as it sounds. First you make a few small adjustments to your food to reduce the calories a little and replace some of the fat and carbohydrate with lean protein. Next you start doing a little more exercise on a regular basis. Nothing too hard to start with because you want to find something that you can continue to do on a regular basis for as long as you can. It’s a lifestyle change you are looking for. Easy weight loss exercise program Anything that makes you work up a little sweat for half an hour, 3 times a week is enough to start you on the road to a leaner, healthier and more attractive body. Even going for short walks will help if you do it often and regularly. Many people get dogs for this very purpose so that they will have reason and motivation to walk every day. There’s more information about diet supplements and exercise programs in a free report and course found at Food To Help You Lose Weight The best diet supplement is your attitude Diet food supplements don’t work for long term weight loss so if you’re serious about losing weight, looking good, feeling good and staying that way then you need to develop a new attitude towards nutrition and exercise. The changes that you need to make in your life may not be as drastic as you imagine and the rewards of a better, longer, healthier life are compelling. You owe it to yourself to give it a try. Traditional Offline Marketing - Part V

Friday, August 24th, 2007

By Nicholas Tan Dont think of these methods as too simple or mundane. They are very effective when done right and combined with other techniques in this report. Value-Paks Similar to card decks, value-paks are little booklets with multiple ads. They are mostly used with coupons, rather than business reply cards. Ad Magazines Youve seen them. Magazines that are little more than a collection of space ads. They are usually local, and the ads in them usually arent direct response. By putting your direct response ad there, you stand out over all the other ads. But the downside is that these magazines tend to be less niche-focused (although there are certainly exceptions, with the real estate and automobile-themed magazines and newspapers). Catalogues Your catalog doesnt have to look like L.L. Bean or the like to be effective. A good one to study with respect to the ads themselves is the J. Peterman catalogue (check out http://www.jpeterman.com). Heres a good way to start small and work up from there in developing a good catalogue: a) Try a simple double-sided flyer first and test response. b) Make sure you locate highly targeted lists, as the wasted cost of mailings is going to be your biggest expense. c) Continue to expand, test, and tweak. Test everythingyour layout, your copy, your pricesuntil you find the best combination. Other ideas are traditional, but not used as much, or I should say not always used as effectively as they could. Direct response marketing and publicity are two that come to mind. And then there are really creative ideas that are often overlooked, such as valuable joint ventures and strategic alliances. Some of these ideas have the potential to really deliver a lot of leads and sales with minimal traditional work. We provide free articles and information on lots of diverse topics. My Practical Weight Loss Diet

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

By Yu Leong Certainly you must be wondering, what is the best weight loss diet. I mean I sure you realized by now you can get a six pack abs by eating fast food and snacks right? Those foods will bring your metabolism down like nobodys business! Dont panic yet, I am not saying that you cant have those food forever, once you have achieved your goal, you can have your favorite fast food or snacks occasionally and WHEN you have those food make sure you cherish it and chew it slowly so that you can really taste the flavor. Here is the deal; there must be something that triggers you to make that decision to get on a weight loss diet right? You cant just wake up one morning and say; Maybe I will lose some weight today. It just doesnt make sense. There must be some motivation, either is to bring your high cholesterol down, increase your fitness level and be healthier because you want to live long enough to see you grandchildren, or lose weight to be able to play sports with your children, to get that girl next door that you admire so much, to get into that beautiful sexy dress that your husband bought you or to gain your confidence and go out and have fun without being paranoid about your weight. There must be something that is so powerful and influential that drives you to make that decision about losing weight, this weight loss diet will help you achieve that! My point is, when I ask you to eat with the intention of fueling your body with healthy food during the first 6 days of the week, Monday to Saturday and then only Sunday having your favorite food with your loved ones, dont be disgusted or rebel! This is a practical weight loss diet, not a quick fix. Its for long term. Think back on the motivation that drives you to take action in losing weight in the first place. You might say, Come on, dont give me that crap and just give me the solutions! Well, this is the main solution! You have got to have the desire to lose weight and do what it takes for you to achieve that goal. Now that your mindset is ready, then I can tell you what food you should eat and what to avoid for maximum fat burning in this weight loss diet, because without the strong mind set, you will give up easily. Trust me, have seen my clients getting gung ho at the beginning and fail because they dont have that strong mind set and give up easily. We trainers can only supply you the tools and the path, you have got to use it and walk it, with a mind set of Its for myself and no one else! The big picture of the weight loss diet The whole week will break down like this; Monday to Saturday, you will eat 4 5 meals, healthy meals. They are the good fuel. Just think of yourself as Lamborghini Diablo, would you put as a super unleaded fuel or cheap leaded fuel that will make the car go slower and destroy it sooner or later? I think we all know the answer, If you answer leaded, give me an email, I want all your money cause you dont care about a Lamborghini Diablo! Then comes the fun day, the Sunday! On Sunday you can have a controlled off day that is included in this weight loss diet, I meant control as in do not over eat until you cant walk! You can have your ice cream or your favorite pizza while watching football. Not happy enough? Well, this I just for 1 month. After one month, you see the results; I am sure you are going to continue my method until you get to your goals and maybe use it as a lifestyle. Monday to Saturday Weight Loss Diet The goal is to eat 4-5 small meals; the fifth is a small snack just in case you need it if your hunger is giving you difficulty to sleep. 4 to 5 meals a day! Omigosh! Dont panic yet, these are small meals and you need them to keep your turbo engine running, keep that metabolism on fire. You need fuel to keep that fire burning right? This method keeps your blood sugar elevated and also keeps the insulin under control. You will feel energetic all day! Some people will advice you to calculate calories, thats all good but it is difficult if you on a go and you are at a restaurant that serves a mix of food, that is very hard to calculate because we dont know what exactly what is inside the mixture of food. On this weight loss diet, I am going to use a more practical approach here. For carbohydrates, use your fist for estimation. For example, how much of brown rice should I eat? Use your fist and thats the amount. For protein, use your palm, like a palm of steak or chicken breast. Eat as much vegetable as you want but be careful on how the veggie is been cooked, drain out the gravy and oil from the vegetables. Use a teaspoon to measure the amount of oil to use and for cheese, the size would be the size of a thumb. Others use sparingly. This is the size of meal that you should be eating on each meal, by the end of the meal; you would not feel hungry, full but not super full. Drink 1 or 2 glasses of plain water to fill your stomach up and then wait. You will feel full later. For more effective results, drink a hot cup of coffee or tea after you meal. It you satisfy you. Sunday! Yahoo! The cheat day is here and you can eat all the cheat foods that you desire and still lose weight. On the Sunday, you can have your favorite meals with your family and friends. Make sure you cherish and really enjoy the food that you eat on this day. Take this day very seriously and important. One, because it is with the people you love and with the food you all enjoy. Secondly, you have successfully completed one week of your 3 months plan. You should celebrate. Get your mind off dieting and when Monday comes you will raring to go. Your tongue and sanity is satisfied and your body remains lean and mean! This weight loss diet has been keeping me fit until now. Believe in it and take action! http://www.weightloss-ways.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Yu_Leong http://EzineArticles.com/?My-Practical-Weight-Loss-Diet&id=244590 mortgage see advice many rugby much residential now mortgage here loans them canada could london those subprime up mortgage get lenders how real very time and leads only mortgage said

Marketing Without Advertising - Business Turnaround

Monday, August 20th, 2007

By Mike Dandridge Do what you do so well that they will want to see it again and bring their friends. -Walt Disney SHAKESPEARE was right. The world is a stage and if youre in Customer Service, you are the one performing. So you think Customer Service is strictly business. Think again! Your customer already knows your price. Its on the Internet. She expects quality to be included at no extra charge. She knows amazing customer service when she sees it and frankly, she thinks yours will fall somewhere between mediocre and atrocious. Todays Customer demands quality, service and price to be already in place. Thats the benchmark, the bare minimum, the entry level and if you dont meet that standard from the very beginning, you will constantly be struggling to keep up with those who are perceptive enough to embrace this fact. SHOWING YOUR ACE An auto dealer took out a full-page advertisement and printed the testimonial of a satisfied customer as the headline for the ad. It simply read, It was the best buying experience I ever had. That was it. She didnt say, It was the cheapest deal in town. Nor, did she give praises about the wonderful features of the new vehicle. She didnt even mention the model she purchased. She simply said it was the best buying experience she ever had. Most customers are exactly like her. They are grading the Personal Experience Factor (PEF) when they conduct business with you. Todays customer is accustomed to being entertained and they are looking to you to provide an Amazing Customer Experience (ACE). ITS NOT THE BIG MAC Youve probably seen the McDonalds commercials that play to our focus on family values. The camera drops in on an average family, Mom and Dad with their young children, gathered around red plastic tables for some good old-fashioned family fun. They are all laughing and enjoying their Happy Meals. If you blink, you might miss the five-seconds of footage highlighting the burgers and fries. Of course, in the real world, if the camera dropped in on my family, the kids wouldnt even be at the table. Theyd be in Play Land and their mom would be shouting, Get over here and eat your chicken nuggets before they get cold! And if the children did happen to be sitting at the table, they would be yelling stuff like, Mom, hes touching my fries, or Ooh, yuck, it has onions on it! But, the point is, its not the Big Mac bringing them in; its quality of the overall PEF. The message is, if you want to have a fun night with the family, take them to McDonalds. The food is secondary. The restaurant and automobile industry arent the only ones improving the PEF to sell their product. While Amazon may be the worlds largest online bookstore and by the way, Amazon excels at customer service the brick and mortar bookstores continue to grow. They offer elaborate settings reminiscent of stylish libraries of the rich and famous. Their interiors, filled with overstuffed chairs and the smell of freshly brewed coffee, invite customers to relax and browse before making their purchase. The bookstores offer something the Internet hasnt yet mastered an Amazing Customer Experience. If you want to remain relevant in the twenty-first century, you too, need to show your customers an ACE. TURNAROUND TIP: Your goal is to make your customer happier after doing business with you than before. Get together with all of your associates and brainstorm some ideas you can use at your business to turn a transaction with your company into an Amazing Customer Experience. Below are some suggestions for jump-starting your brainstorming session.Engage your customers senses. Whats the first thing a customer sees upon entering your store? Whats the first scent a customer experiences when walking into your business? Is it the smell of burnt coffee, mildew, or an overflowing trash container? Pay attention to appearances, fragrances and sounds. I know a realtor who lights a vanilla candle in the kitchen of the house shes about to show, twenty minutes before her appointment arrives. She says it creates an inviting scent that engages the customers imagination by suggesting the aroma of home-cooking and fresh baked goods. There are several simple things you can do to enhance your environment. Buy an automatic air-freshener. Brew fresh coffee. Light a candle. Take out the trash. Offer an interactive experience. REI, a retailer who specializes in recreation gear, has simulated outdoor settings such as a Rain Room, a climbing rock and bike trail that are testing stations where members can try out gear before they buy. Golfsmith superstores have practice ranges, classes in custom clubmaking, putting courses and computer analysis of your golf swing. Think of some industry-related interactive ideas for your business and customers will think of you first, when its time to buy the service or product you sell. Provide entertainment. Do-It-Yourself centers hold How-to demonstrations on everything from how to hang wallpaper to proper paint selection. Barnes and Noble and Borders bookstores provide musical events and feature best-selling authors who lecture and sign books. Heres an inexpensive way you can provide entertainment at your business. Buy a combination TV/VCR and play product videos or other programs your customers would enjoy. Create your own Amazing Customer Experience. Be open to new ideas and evaluate the PEF at other businesses outside of your industry. Remember to look at your business from the customers point of view. Its still a personal business. People buy from people they like who work at places they enjoy going. Create an Amazing Customer Experience at your business and soon your customers will tell others, It was the best buying experience I ever had! Resume Objectives … The Hidden Pitfalls

Monday, August 20th, 2007

By Roger Clark Why Use Resume Objectives Before we can discuss the pitfalls you first need to understand the reasons for including your resume objectives and how they relate to your resume and interview selection process. Including an objectives section at the beginning of your resume provides a brief introduction to the purpose of the resume, highlighting your career objectives and the type of job you are seeking. It is very common for job-seekers to include a brief objectives section at the beginning of their resumeThe objectives section can be an important part of a resume, and might be the first thing employers looks at. Therefore you should put considerable thought into constructing focused and clear objectives. Look At These Resume Objective Examples A resume objective does exactly what the name suggests; it highlights your objectives and states the type of job you are seeking. Here are some examples of career objectives: To obtain an elementary education teaching position with upward mobility to a principalship. To obtain a position in manufacturing operations and development which will utilize acquired knowledge and collective experience. Public relations writer for a large metropolitan hospital. Auditor position in the public accounting field in the Philadelphia area. As you can see, the objectives are short and sweet; meaning they are to the point in describing the purpose of creating your resume. Doorway To The Interview… Resumes What is a resume… usually it is the first contact you have with potential employers. It is also where you list your skills and create a marketable presentation so that companies understand the benefits of employing you. Your resume is also the first (and possibly the last!) opportunity you have to persuade your prospective employer to give you an interview. Clearly… it is in your best interests to ensure your resume is compelling enough to leave the recruiter with no other option but to invite you to an interview. If you want to learn more about writing resumes that get interviews, visit a site such as Top Career Resumes where you will find numerous articles and tips. Or, if you prefer… a cost effective alternative is to use a resume writing service to prepare your resume for you. Pitfalls of Using Resume Objectives You may have noticed that all previous references to objectives focus on you and therein lies the pitfall ! Employers are not interested in what you want … If your objectives fail to match those of the employer, you will not even get to first base ! So keep your options open until you find out more about their objectives. Some people decide to omit the objectives section and use that space to highlight other abilities and accomplishments. Whether you choose to use resume objectives or not will depend greatly on your particular situation. Reasons Against … A few experts feel that the resume objectives section can be limiting to job seekers. It makes you be very specific as to your goals. This may be constraining if you want to be general and leave your options open. Employers on average take only 30 seconds to look at a resume. The objectives section is the first thing that catches their eye. If you have a specific objective written, for example to obtain a managerial position, the manager may pass on your resume if he was looking for some other position. If you are thinking about getting a professionally written resume, now would be a good time. However, remember that the objectives section can disqualify you for jobs different from your stated objective… if you are not looking for a targeted job you can skip the section without many negative consequences. It would be advisable to skip the resume objective section rather than be too vague. Unfocused objectives will put off many hiring managers. They may not end up looking at your experience and skills, which would of shown you to be a suitable candidate for the job. Reasons For … If you do include your resume objectives, you should construct several different resumes, each specifically tailored to the job you are applying for. You will want to make your resume relevant to each job. The objectives section may be the best way to create job specific resumes. A draw back of not including the objectives section is that a hiring manager may not be willing to search your resume to figure out your job objectives and goals… and may bypass your resume. If you have a specific job position in mind and are clear about your objectives, this section can be useful in informing potential employers about your reasons for applying. In either case, it may pay you to seek professional advice before you make your final decision. The modest cost of doing this pales into insignificance compared with the cost of making a poor career decision. Stating Your Resume Objectives This has greatest benefits for career changers and recent college graduates. Your objectives should be concise and to the point, to quickly inform employers about your background and goals. Entry-level workers can state in their resume objectives that they are recent graduates looking for positions in their particular field. Career changers should state how they can use their previously earned skills to make a transition into their new career. Be Employer Focused An alternative to resume objectives might be the Qualifications Summary section. This is a section where you can briefly discuss your skills and how you intend to use them. This can make your resume more employer focused, as the employer wants to find out what you can do for them. This might be more beneficial than having a self-focused resume, simply listing what you want to do. Many employers prefer to have employees that are focused on their goals and motivated to achieving them. A well presented objective can be just the high-impact tool that can get a hiring managers attention from the start. Finally … When writing your resume objectives you have to consider your career plans. If you have not already done so, now would be a good time to get assistance with career assessment and planning. When you have completed your planning and taken some time to match your interests with your chosen career, your resume objectives should complement the results you obtained through your searches. New Jersey DWI Arrests

Friday, August 17th, 2007

By Kristy Annely In the year 2003, deaths in the United States resulting from alcohol-related motor vehicle crashes totaled 17,013. This works out to 40% of all traffic accident deaths! The enormity of the problem in New Jersey can be gauged by the fact that during a crackdown on the menace between 8/19/2005 and 9/5/2005, 583 people were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). Intoxication can be either from alcohol or from other substances, which can even include certain prescription medicines. Whether a person feels that he can hold his liquor is immaterial. If caught driving with a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of 0.08% or more, he is in serious trouble. New Jersey DWI laws are very specific, and the enforcement officers have vast powers. A driver can be arrested even without the Standardized Field Sobriety Test. But in such instances the state has to prove that there was sufficient reason to take the person into custody. The police can arrest a driver who has an open liquor bottle in his car, parked or otherwise. Here the probable cause, which again the state has to prove, would be intention to drive after consuming the intoxicant. A person who realizes that he has consumed too much alcohol and decides to sleep it off in his car can also be at risk of arrest. In such cases the problem is that when he wakes up he might feel sober and drive, but the BAC could still be adverse. The police are under no compulsion to read out the Miranda rights to the suspect during roadside questioning. If an enforcement officer waves you down, stop as soon as possible. Trying to make a dash home will lead to further trouble. Sometimes a successful defense can be made by exploiting lacunae in the arrest procedure or contradictions in the states case. For instance, the police vehicle may be fitted with a video camera. The arresting officer perhaps doesn’t always refer to the video while making his report. This can lead to inconsistencies, which may be to the defendants benefit. The best policy is not to drive while intoxicated. If caught, be polite to the police, and contact a good lawyer as soon as possible. Asian Inspired Wedding Favor Ideas

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

By Erica Tevis Asian themed weddings are on the rise, and they aren’t just limited to those people of Asian heritage. Many brides are finding themselves drawn to the festivity of Chinese themed weddings or the simplicity of “Zen” Japanese weddings. Perhpas you practice a bit of feng shui in your home, to bring peace and tranquility. Or perhaps your tastes reflect the traditional Chinese style and glamour. Whatever your tastes dictate, an Asian themed wedding is a wonderful way to celebrate your marriage connected to your values and lifestyle. If your considering an Asian themed wedding, here are some ideas to inspire your Asian themed wedding favors. In Chinese themed weddings, white is considered bad luck (the color of death) and red and black are good (colors of luck and prosperity). You’ll want to keep that in mind while planning your wedding and selecting your wedding favors. These Asian themed wedding favors typically feature bright colors and nature motifs. Some ideas to consider for your Chinese themed wedding are: red and gold place cards held in a Asian themed place card holder, take out containers filled with fortune cookies, lucky bamboo stalks, chopsticks, items with the double happiness character, brocade sachets or boxes, red mini lanterns, hand held fans, red envelopes with lucky coins tucked inside, or Asian themed mints and candies are just some ideas you could select for your favors. In Japanese or Zen themed weddings, brides should look for simplicity, elegance and natural materials when planning their wedding and selecting their Japanese inspired wedding favors. Crane motifs are used in Japanese weddings, wedding kimono and Japanese wedding decorations because cranes mate for life and are devoted to their partners in all seasons. Some wedding favor ideas to consider are: Japanese paper lanterns, hand fans, chopsticks, sake gift sets, lucky cat ornaments or figurines, Kaeru frog charms, cherry blossom designed items, or even incense cones or sticks. Whatever your Asian wedding style, make sure your wedding favors are infused with Far East flair to complement your theme. With a little thought and a bit of searching, you’re sure to find your perfect Asian themed wedding favor. Erica Tevis is the owner of Two Hearts Wedding Favors http://www.twoheartsfavors.com .
